It was a beautiful day, and I was doing, hmmm, well, that’s how every story starts, no? I will begin to mine following the same typical inherited plot. Well, it’s not a story about paranormal activity but more about whether to trust a platform regarding your “digital assets.” And away we go…
Once upon a time, it was a hot summer day, and I was grabbing lunch at a small café, Abraco”. Yes, as I recall, it is located in the heart of NYC.
Sitting at my table, I noticed an older gentleman who appeared to be in deep distress, about to cry. Without a second thought, I rushed toward him and asked if he was okay, and he opened up to me about his financial struggles. The gentleman, who introduced himself as Liam, had invested his life savings in a popular cryptocurrency platform called FTX, only to discover that it was a fraudulent scheme that had caused millions of users worldwide to lose their hard-earned money. Liam was one of the many victims of this tragedy, and his story resonated with me as I, too, had heard of the FTX issues and fraud. I consoled him and offered to have lunch with me. We sat together and talked about many things. He told me about his newborn baby boy “Noah.”
“Quite the name,” I replied. “Thank You,” he nodded with expressions of sorrow on his face. I knew what he was going through. But that was that; he shook my hand, and we bid farewell to each other. I don’t see that incident engraved in my soul.
A few months later, I had a gathering of a few close friends at the same café. We chatted about our daily lives and joked like we always do. The thing I didn’t know was that there was a ticking memory bomb right under my soul, just at a different table that was about to go boom!
Suddenly, one of the friends, Jack, perked up the topic “FTX.”
YES. The bomb I was talking about.
"Guys, have you heard of FTX?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, I have. What about it?" replied David.
No, just say no. My heart cried out loud, but only I could hear the scream. No one else. It was a trip right down memory lane.
"I trusted FTX with my savings, but they were just taken in a flash," Jack said, his voice trembling with anger and disappointment.
The moment earth stood still for me—a pin-drop silence. I could see two faces in front of me, Jack and Liam. Jack just got married, and his wife is pregnant. My heart went numb, and I tried to control my emotions, but my feelings got the worst out of me, “what the hell were you thinking” I yelled at Jack.
Pin-drop silence. This time it was not just inside my head. Everyone at the café was looking at us.
“I didn’t know this could happen,” Jack uttered in a sad and low voice. That voice instantly rolled my anger into the bin.
We consoled him and tried our best to ease him. We talked and shared our concerns about the lack of security in the current crypto market and how exchanges like FTX prioritize their profits over the well-being of their users. Then the atmosphere changed into a humorous one. We made fun of Jack's misfortune, but Jack didn't mind. He was glad to have friends like us who could make him laugh even in tough times.
In the middle of our conversation, one of my friends, Mike, suddenly mentioned the name "Legacy Suite."
"Hey guys, have you heard of Legacy Suite?" Mike asked.
The group looked at Alex with intrigue.
"No, we haven't. So what is it?" replied David.
"It's a new platform that seems to be pretty revolutionary. They offer a wide range of digital wills including crypto, social, future messages, password manager, and the list goes on," Mike said, like he was on cocaine or something.
All of us were fascinated by the idea. I was too, but I don’t trust digital platforms that easily. I have always been the curious one among my friends who are always looking for new and innovative solutions.
What do you think?’ David asked.
WHAT DO I THINK?” with my eyebrows reaching to the rooftop.
Yes, what is your opinion on “Legacy Suite”? David replied
Well, do you think it is the right time to jump off to another platform without a second thought after FTX?” I asked.
“Yeah, you are right,” they chanted.
However, Jack was still skeptical about the platform. He had just been burned by FTX, and no way he or anyone else in the group would jump into uncharted territory with their money.
After a few rounds of drinks and conversation, we said goodbye to each other and went our separate ways. But I couldn't stop thinking about Legacy Suite. Didn’t I mention I was the curious one? Oh, Yes, I did.
As I stepped into my bedroom, I jumped onto my laptop and started googling about it; Legacy Suite, hmmm!
What can I say? I was amazed and astonished by the functionalities it offered.
I couldn't believe that one platform could do so much. I started to question whether a platform could even deliver on all of its promises. Over the next few days, I dove deeper into the forum and learned more about its features. I talked to other users and read reviews to see what they had to say about Legacy Suite. I will not lie, so I did sign up for the platform to test it on my own. I found out that the hype was real. It comprised a comprehensive suite of tools designed to make crypto asset management safe, secure, and sound. The feature that surprised me the most was the "digital wills" feature, which allowed me to assign my wife or loved ones as my trusted representative for my digital and physical assets.
So, for me, FTX and Legacy Suite sail in different horizons. Safe to say, FTX promised users that they would sail like the Titanic and the rest is history. One at the bottom of the sea, and the other turned into mere chunks of 0s and 1s in our digital world.
Legacy Suite offers non-custodial asset management, meaning users have complete control and ownership of their digital assets. At the same time, FTX operates as a centralized exchange where users deposit their assets into the exchange's custody. Legacy Suite focuses on estate planning and management for digital assets; I read and experienced it in their policies and platform. FTX was primarily a cryptocurrency exchange offering trading services. Legacy Suite emphasizes security and privacy, while FTX has faced criticism while sailing regarding security concerns with its platform, as well as its association with the Tether stablecoin and regulatory issues.
To Cut it too short, in my perspective, it is more than just a platform for managing your assets but a platform for securing your future and preserving your legacy. It is a platform that ensures that your assets and memories will be passed down to future generations. It is a platform that goes beyond financial stability and ensures that your legacy will last forever."
It was a “Game-Changer,” they say. I beg to differ. A “Mind-Changer,” I would add.
