Charitable giving

Give to the causes you care about, from inside your estate plan

Search a directory of non-profits, donate through The Giving Block's own widget without leaving Legacy Suite, and name an organisation as a beneficiary so your giving outlives you.

Why it lives here

Generosity is part of a legacy, not a separate errand

Most people who give regularly do it in a way that leaves no trace in their estate. The donations happen on a dozen different websites, the receipts live in an inbox, and the causes that mattered most across a lifetime are invisible in the documents that describe what happens next.

Legacy Suite treats giving as part of the same picture as everything else you are recording. You can find an organisation, donate to it, and — separately — name it as a beneficiary so it is written into the plan rather than remembered only by the people who knew you well.

Neither of those replaces professional advice about the tax or estate consequences of a gift. What they do is keep your giving in the same place as the rest of your affairs, where the people handling them will actually find it.

The directory

A searchable directory of non-profits

Legacy Suite integrates with The Giving Block, which maintains the list of participating organisations. Inside the product, that list is a directory you can search and page through.

Search by name

Type what you are looking for and the directory narrows as you go. Useful when you already have an organisation in mind and simply want to reach it quickly.

Paginated results

Results come back a page at a time rather than in one overwhelming list, so browsing when you do not have a specific cause in mind stays manageable.

Donate from the listing

Each organisation carries a Donate action. Choosing it opens that organisation's own donation widget directly in Legacy Suite, in a modal over the directory.

Organisations come from The Giving Block

Which non-profits appear, and the details shown for them, are supplied by The Giving Block. Legacy Suite does not curate, rank, or endorse the organisations in the directory.

How a donation works

From the directory to a completed donation

The donation itself is handled by The Giving Block, not by Legacy Suite. Here is exactly what happens when you press Donate.

01

Find the organisation

Open charitable giving from the header and search the directory, or page through it until you find the non-profit you want to support.

02

Press Donate

Legacy Suite requests that organisation's donation widget from The Giving Block. Nothing is charged and no payment details are entered at this stage.

03

The widget opens in a modal

The Giving Block's own donation widget is rendered in a modal over the directory, so you stay in Legacy Suite while the donation form itself is theirs.

04

You complete the donation with The Giving Block

Amount, payment method, and any receipt details are handled inside that widget, under The Giving Block's process and terms rather than Legacy Suite's.

Giving that outlives you

Name a non-profit as a beneficiary

A donation is a gift you make now. Naming a non-profit as a beneficiary is a different thing: it records an organisation among the parties who inherit, alongside the people you have named.

Legacy Suite's beneficiary feature includes non-profit search, so an organisation can be added the same way a person would be. That turns a cause you have supported quietly for years into something written down where your executor will see it.

Search for the organisation

Beneficiary search covers non-profits as well as people, so you can find and add an organisation without leaving the flow.

Recorded alongside your other beneficiaries

The organisation sits in the same list as everyone else you have named, so nothing about your intentions has to be inferred later.

Revisit it as your priorities change

Beneficiaries are not set in stone. The causes that matter to you at forty may not be the ones that matter at seventy, and the record should follow.

What Legacy Suite does and does not do here

Charitable giving is an integration. Being clear about the boundary matters, because your money crosses it.

What Legacy Suite does

  • Provides a searchable, paginated directory of non-profits from The Giving Block
  • Opens the chosen organisation's Giving Block donation widget in a modal, in-product
  • Lets you name a non-profit as a beneficiary through beneficiary non-profit search
  • Keeps your giving in the same place as the rest of your estate records

What Legacy Suite does not do

  • Process, hold, or route your donation — The Giving Block's widget does that
  • Curate, rank, vet, or endorse the organisations listed in the directory
  • Issue tax receipts or confirm the deductibility of any particular gift
  • Provide tax, legal, or financial advice about charitable giving
  • Guarantee that a named beneficiary gift will be carried out in any particular way
On tax

The honest answer about deductibility

Donations to qualified non-profit organisations may be tax-deductible. Whether a particular gift is deductible for you depends on the organisation's status, where you file, how you file, and the specifics of your own situation — none of which Legacy Suite is in a position to assess.

Receipts and acknowledgements for a donation come from The Giving Block's process and the receiving organisation, not from Legacy Suite. Keep them, and confirm the treatment of any gift with a qualified tax professional before you rely on it.

Legacy Suite is not a law firm, an accountancy practice, or a financial adviser, and nothing on this page is tax, legal, or financial advice.

Are you a non-profit rather than a donor?

There is a different page for your organisation

This page is for individuals who want to give. If you run or fundraise for a non-profit and want to grow documented legacy gifts from your supporters, the planned giving platform is what you are after.

Why people give through Legacy Suite

One place for the whole picture

Your documents, your accounts, your beneficiaries, and the causes you support all sit in the same product rather than scattered across a dozen services.

Finding a cause is not the hard part

A searchable directory means you can act on an intention in the moment you have it, instead of bookmarking it for a someday that rarely arrives.

Intentions written down, not assumed

Naming a non-profit as a beneficiary puts a cause into the record, so nobody has to guess what you would have wanted.

Questions about giving through Legacy Suite

How the directory works, who processes your donation, and what naming a nonprofit as a beneficiary does.

Legacy Suite integrates with The Giving Block to provide a searchable, paginated directory of non-profit organisations. You find an organisation, press Donate, and that organisation's Giving Block donation widget opens in a modal inside Legacy Suite, where you complete the donation.
The Giving Block. Legacy Suite fetches the donation widget for the organisation you chose and renders it in a modal, but the donation form, the payment, and the resulting receipt are all handled by The Giving Block's own widget under their process and terms. Legacy Suite does not take, hold, or route your money.
The organisations that appear in the directory are supplied by The Giving Block. Legacy Suite does not build, curate, rank, or endorse that list — if an organisation participates with The Giving Block, it can appear in the directory, and if it does not, it will not.
Yes. The directory is searchable by name, and results are returned a page at a time so you can also browse when you have a general area in mind rather than a specific organisation. Search is the fastest route when you already know who you want to support.
No. The Giving Block's widget is rendered in a modal over the directory, so you stay inside Legacy Suite for the whole flow even though the donation form itself belongs to them.
You can name a non-profit as a beneficiary. Legacy Suite's beneficiary feature includes non-profit search, so an organisation can be added to your beneficiaries the same way a person would be, and appears in the same list. As with any beneficiary designation, talk to a qualified professional about how it should be structured for your circumstances.
A donation is a gift you make now, completed through The Giving Block's widget. Naming a beneficiary is a record in your estate plan that an organisation is among the parties you intend to inherit. They are separate actions serving different purposes, and doing one does not do the other.
Donations to qualified non-profit organisations may be tax-deductible, but whether a particular gift is deductible for you depends on the organisation's status, your jurisdiction, how you file, and your own circumstances. Legacy Suite cannot assess that. Confirm the treatment of any gift with a qualified tax professional.
No. Receipts and acknowledgements come from The Giving Block's process and the receiving organisation, since that is where the donation is actually completed. Keep whatever documentation that flow provides you.
Legacy Suite does not process the donation, so the amounts, any processing fees, and the terms of the transaction are all governed by The Giving Block's widget. Review the details shown in that widget before you confirm a gift.
No — this page is for individual donors who want to give through Legacy Suite. If you work at a non-profit and want to grow documented legacy gifts from your supporters, the planned giving platform for nonprofits is the page for you.
There is an entry point in the header of the Legacy Suite app, which opens the non-profit directory. Naming a non-profit as a beneficiary is done separately, through the beneficiary flow.
Yes. Beneficiaries can be revisited as your circumstances and priorities change, and keeping that record current is part of what the platform's checklist prompts you to do over time.
No. Legacy Suite does not vet, endorse, or recommend any organisation in the directory, and appearing there is not a judgement about an organisation's effectiveness or governance. Do your own research on any cause before giving to it.

Make giving part of the
plan itself

Open the directory, find the organisations that matter to you, and decide whether they belong in your will as well as your bank statement.

Donations are completed through The Giving Block's own widget. Legacy Suite does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.
