How the wizard actually behaves

The parts people usually find out the hard way — what happens when you leave a field blank, close the tab, or come back a week later.

Validation

An incomplete step cannot advance

Every step owns its own form. The Continue button submits that form, so validation runs on the fields in front of you. If something required is missing or malformed, you stay on the step and see exactly which field is the problem — you cannot reach the end and discover a gap four screens back.

Saving

Local first, then the draft on your account

Your answers are written to your browser's local storage as you fill them in, and the draft is sent to your account when you press Continue or Save & Exit. There is no background timer quietly saving in between — the save points are the buttons you press.

Interruptions

A failed save does not trap you

If a save to your account does not go through, you get a toast telling you so, and you can keep working. Deliberately, a network hiccup does not lock you out of the step you are on.

Resuming

You return to the furthest step you reached

Come back later and the flow reopens where you got to. Stepping back to revise an earlier answer does not move that marker backwards, so revisiting step two never costs you the seven steps you already finished.

Review

A plain summary of everything you entered

The last step before generating is a read-only summary of your answers laid out on screen. It is there to catch a misspelled name or a wrong percentage. It is a summary of your inputs, not a rendering of the finished document.

Output

The PDF is generated on our servers

When you reach review, the app generates your document and holds the file ready. The final button downloads that PDF. Nothing is rendered in your browser, and there is no live preview of the finished document while you fill the wizard.

Islamic Will

The Islamic Will has a real inheritance engine behind it

One of its seven steps is a Fara'id calculator — not a form that records shares you worked out elsewhere, but a rules engine that computes them. It handles the standard cases across sons, daughters without sons, grandchildren, parents without surviving offspring, and spouse-only estates, and it shows or hides fields depending on which heirs you record.

This matters more than any feature on this page, so it should not be buried. Legacy Suite builds and generates your document. Making it effective is a physical, in-person step that happens after the download, and the rules for it are set by your state — not by us.

What happens after you download

The builder ends with a file. These are the steps between that file and a document that does its job — and the reason the middle one is state-specific.

    Print it

    Signing happens on paper. There is no e-signature step in Legacy Suite, and no digital signing flow to complete inside the app.

    Sign it the way your state requires

    Witness counts, who is disqualified from witnessing, whether a handwritten will counts, and whether a self-proving affidavit is available all vary by state. Check yours before you put pen to paper.

    Notarise if your state expects it

    Some documents and some states call for a notary. Legacy Suite does not notarise anything and does not connect you to a notary — you arrange that yourself.

    Tell someone where the signed original is

    A perfectly executed document nobody can find does nothing. Make sure the person you named as executor knows it exists and where to look.

You are asked, not left guessing

A downloadable template assumes you know which clauses your situation needs. The wizard asks the questions in order and only shows the fields your document type uses.

Mistakes surface immediately

Per-step validation means an empty required field stops you there, on the screen where you can fix it, rather than turning into a problem in the finished file.

You can do it in more than one sitting

Save & Exit and come back. The flow reopens at the furthest step you reached, so a ten-step trust does not have to be one long evening.

Not really. The wizard asks questions rather than presenting you with a blank legal template, and it only shows the fields the document type you chose actually uses.
